Hi. I'm Rebecca from engVid.In this lesson, you'll have a chance to review eight common English errors.
嗨,我是来自 engVid 的 Rebecca。本节课,你有机会复习8个常见的英语错误。
So, let's see how you do.The first one: "Today morning I woke up late."So, what's wrong with that?
让我们来看看如何复习吧。第一个:"Today morning I woke up late."那么,这个句子哪里错了呢?
There is actually something wrong with each and every one of these.
实际上这个句子的每个部分都有点问题。
I'll tell you that in advance; there's no...There are no tricks here. Okay? So, what's wrong with that sentence?
我会提前告诉你;这里没有...没有任何技巧。所以,这个句子有什么错误?
"Today morning I woke up late." Well, it should be: "This morning". Okay?
"Today morning I woke up late." 它应该是这样的:"This morning"。明白么?
We don't say: "Today morning".We say: "This morning".Number two: "What's the different?"
我们不说:"Today morning"。我们说:"This morning"。第二个:"What's the different?"
What's the different?Well, that's wrong too, because "different" is an adjective.
什么是不同的?这个句子也错了,因为"different" 是一个形容词。
What you want to use here is the noun. So, what's the noun of this word?
你在这想要用的是名词。所以,这个词的名词形式是什么?
"Difference"."What's the difference?" Okay?
"Difference"。"What's the difference?" 对吧?
This is a really common error, so make sure you don't make this one.
这真的是一个普遍的错误,所以确保你没有犯这样的错误。
Next one: "I met John two years before."Okay? What's wrong with that?
下一个:"I met John two years before."这个句子哪里错了?
Well, over here, we can't say: "I met John two years before."
嗯,在这里,我们不能说:"I met John two years before."
We can say: "I met two...I met John two years ago." All right?
我们可以说:"I met John two years ago." 知道了吗?
If you use the word "before", then you have to say before something.
如果你用"before"这个词,那之后你必须说在某事之前。
"Before I graduated". Okay?"Before I got married", or whatever.
“在我毕业之前”。对吧?“在我结婚之前”,或者随便什么之前。
But you can't use "before" by itself. So the proper word there is "ago"."I met John two years ago."
但你不能单独使用"before"。所以这里合适的词是 "ago"。“我两年前见过 John。”
Next one: "This is a six-months course."That sounds almost okay, but it's not okay.So the mistake here is with the "s".
下一个:"This is a six-months course."这个听起来还可以,但是它并不是对的。所以这里的错误是跟 "s" 有关。
When we use this expression, it becomes...The entire expression becomes an adjective for the noun "course".
当我们用这个语句时,它是...这个语句是一个形容词修饰名词 "course"。
So we should say: "This is a six-month course.""This is a million dollar contract." and so on. Okay?
所以我们应该说:"This is a six-month course."“这是一份价值百万美元的合同。” 等等,对吧?
That's another...Each of these is a different element of grammar, different aspect of grammar, and so on.
这是另一个...这些里每一个都是不同的语法元素,不同的语法点等等。
Next, number five: "Thank you. I really enjoyed."What's wrong with that?Well, the problem is here.
接下来,第五个:"Thank you. I really enjoyed."这个句子哪里错了?嗯,问题在这里。
"Enjoyed" is a reflexive verb, so you would need to say: "I really enjoyed myself."
"Enjoyed"是一个反身动词,所以你需要这样说:"I really enjoyed myself."
"I really enjoyed myself.", "He enjoyed himself.", "She enjoyed herself.", "We enjoyed ourselves.", "They enjoyed themselves." Okay?
“我玩得真的很高兴。”,“他玩得很高兴。”,“她玩得很高兴。”,“我们玩得很高兴。”以及“他们玩得很高兴。”对吧?
So there are certain reflexive verbs in English, and we need to use them correctly. That's one of them.Very common one.
所以英语中有些反身动词,我们需要正确地使用它们。这是其中一个。非常常见的一个。
Okay, number six: "Did you loose your cellphone?"What's wrong with that?
好,第六个:"Did you loose your cellphone?"这有什么错误?
I helped you a little bit by actually showing you where the error is.
我来给你点小帮主,通过向你展示实际哪里有错误。
So, many people make this error. This is actually a spelling mistake. You should be spelling the word this way.
所以,很多人会犯这个错误。这实际上是一个拼写错误。你应该这样拼写。
"Did you lose your cellphone?""Loose" is an adjective which means not tight, and "lose" is the opposite of "find". Okay?
"Did you lose your cellphone?""Loose" 是形容词,意思是宽松的,而 "lose" 是 "find"的反义词。对吧?
"Did you lose your cellphone?"Also, the pronunciation is "lose" and not "loose".
“你丢了你的手机吗?”同时,发音是"lose"而不是"loose"。
Next one: "This is an academic course.", "This is an academic course."So, what was wrong with what I said there? Okay?
下一个:"This is an academic course.",“这是一门学术课程。”嗯,我刚才说的哪里错了呢?
So, what was wrong was my pronunciation of that.So many people mispronounce this word.
我这句话的发音哪里错了呢?很多人会读错这个单词。
It is not "academic".It is "academic".The stress is on the middle.
它不是"academic"。而是"academic"。重音在中间。
Academic. "This is an academic course.", "This is an academic program." Okay?
学术的。“这是一门学术课程。”,“这是一个学术项目。”对吧?
So, if...In case you make that mistake.I'm not saying you do.
所以,如果...如果你犯了这个错误。我不是说你犯了这个错误。
In case you do, make sure you correct it.Last one: "Yes, I have a free time."
以防你犯了,所以确保你改正了。最后一个:"Yes,I have a free time."
Is that...?What's wrong there?What's going on?Okay, here.We don't need to say: "A free time".
它是...?它哪里有错误?有什么问题?好,这里。我们不需要说:"A free time"。
We need to say: "Free time", because this is a...Time is an uncountable noun.
我们需要说:"Free time",因为这是一个... Time 是一个不可数名词。
Now, each one of these examples represents a different aspect of grammar.
这样,每个例子都代表了一个不同的语法点。
So, how can you possibly learn all of them?Well, I'll give you two easy ways to help you out.
所以,你有可能能全部学会吗?嗯,我会给你两个简单的方法帮助你学会。
