stood sb. up: 放鸽子，让某人空等一场。
To stand up someone就是一个人没有能按时去赴重要的约会，特别是和女朋友或男朋友的约会，英文的解释是to fail to keep a date with。这里要请大家注意的是，to stand up someone也可以把最后两个字颠倒一下，成为： to stand someone up. 这种to stand someone up的情况甚至在举行婚礼的时候都可能发生。下面就是一个例子。这是新郎在说话。

例句: Mary was two hours late for our wedding and I was afraid she had stood me up. But she finally got there, her head all bandaged -- she'd been in an auto accident on her way to church!
这位新郎说："我和玛丽举行婚礼的那天她迟到了两个小时。我当时真担心她不会来了，让我空等。可是后来她终于到了。她的头上包着绷带。原来她在去教堂的路上出了车祸。"

Hit on sb. Hit somebody 是打某人的意思，但是 hit on somebody 就不一样了。hit on somebody 是搭讪的意思。在很多美国的电视剧里常可以看到，一个男的跑去跟一个陌生女孩说了两句话，那个女孩就说 Are you hitting on me? 你现在是在跟我搭讪吗?

hit on sb.与come on to sb.和pass at sb.和crash on sb.都是对某人有好感的意思,还有个有意思的短语是flirt with sb.意思也是有好感. 而前面那些与flirt with sb.还有区别.前者指的是对某人有意思，有好感（情感上或生理上），不一定（只是不一定要付诸行动，即被某人所吸引，而后者则应包括付诸行动，比如我们常说的上前搭讪，引人注意，挑逗，调情。当然具体到实际生活中两种情况有可能交叉，我看的字幕版本写的是"你别挑逗她了" 还是很准确的。
