more than: 很，非常
They were more than glad to help us.

more than的用法

1. More than＋名词表示多于……、非但……尤其是如：

1) Modern science is more than a large amount of information.
现代科学不仅仅是一堆信息而已。
2) Jason is more than a lecturer; he is a writer, too.
Jason不光是一个讲师，更是一位作家。

2. More than＋数词含以上或不止之意，如：

3) I have known David for more than 20 years.
我认识大卫二十多年了。

3. More than＋形容词等于很或非常的意思，如：
