A family obituary in this morning's New York Times is announcing the death of the mother of Christine Brinkley at the age of 91 says:her heart never survived losing the love of her life for her husband who predeceased by seven weeks. It's very common after the death of a longtime spouse, but the sadness also a medical condition and worst of all, could truly be fatal as it often appears to be. Cindy Bezon's husband Joel had been in the cardiac ICU of Maine Medical Center for three days, recovering from a heart attack. And she had a visual in a nearby waiting room.

We think that it is women age, their hearts and small blood vessels around their heart become more susceptible to distress hormones. It's a temporary malfunction. And the heart usually covers completely if it's recognized in time, important thing is to recognize it. I think they are frankly under-recognized in this country.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday that companies in his country should work to increase exports of non-raw material products as a way for Russia to cope with western sanctions and a depreciating rouble.
Putin said at a business forum in Moscow that domestic industries should expand before western sanctions are lifted and they have to compete with foreign imports again. The president said the Russian government has drafted some development plans for industry and agriculture, and Russian businesses should do more to accelerate implementation of the plans.
"The current situation is not very simple, not to say difficult. The change in the rouble’s exchange rate improves the cost competitiveness of Russian products and opens the door to possibilities of taking control of new niches in both national and international markets. But we should keep in mind, this is time limited. That’s why we must take advantage as soon as possible to increase non-energy exports and to develop our own market," Putin said.
Putin said Russia should not overly rely on domestic products. He stressed the importance of attracting foreign investment and introducing foreign technologies, as well as encouraging the development of small and medium sized enterprises.
The prices of imported goods have soared as the rouble has weakened and sanctions and counter-sanctions have hurt trade.
The World Bank forecasts that the Russian economy will contract 3.8 percent this year.

Several counties and cities in south China have been battered by yet more heavy downpours that started again this week. Among the most heavily hit areas are Leishan County in Guizhou Province, Ninghua County in Fujian, and Lufeng City in Guangdong. The heavy rain has led to heavy traffic, as well as power and water shortages.
Heavy rain started Tuesday in Leishan County of southwest China's Guizhou Province. The province was hit by around 160 millimeters of rainfall per hour, almost one-seventh of the normal annual amount. The downpours damaged highways, disrupted traffic and led to some being rescued.
Local authorities dispatched traffic police officers to control the traffic and take residents to safety. Water and power supplies, as well as communication networks, resumed on Wednesday.
On May 19, heavy rain hit Ninghua County in east China's Fujian Province.
The downpours damaged 18 bridges and roads in 63 villages of nine townships.
Armed police officers and heavy machinery were sent to repair and clear the bridges and roads.
Traffic was resumed on Tuesday afternoon. The local traffic department says they will continue their efforts to ensure the safety of local people.
Rainstorms hit Lufeng City in south China's Guangdong Province on Wednesday. Precipitation in some places exceeded 100 millimeters in three hours. School classes were suspended in the afternoon due to the downpours.
The local meteorological department has issued a red alert for the storms and predicts yet more rainfall to hit in the region.
