Cell phones are everywhere.There are over six billion cell phone subscriptions worldwide,nearly one for every man,woman and child on the planet.And many people claim they can no longer live without them,but are they safe? Is it possible that something so near and dear to us could be risky and if so what kind of risk would it be? For starters,most cell phones these days use lithium-ion batteries which as a previous risk bites explored can present a fire risk if you abuse them,but so long as you don't treat your phone like a racquetball,you probably OK. Vent this the nonionizing radiation like other wireless electronic appliances.

That may sound scary but before you cancel your phone subscription,consider that this category possible carcinogens also includes coffee and pickled vegetables.Surprisingly the best studied risk associated with cell phones comes not from the phone itself,but from the distraction it causes to drivers. The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences on Sunday announced the winners of the 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.
‘General Hospital’ and ‘The Young and the Restless’ were the top winners with three trophies each, while the latter shared the best drama series award with ‘Days of Our Lives’.
The Daytime Emmy Awards spread the wealth around with two winners for best daytime drama ‘Days of Our Lives’ and a repeat by last year's winner, ‘The Young and The Restless’.
Hosted by Tyra Banks, the ceremony also recognized Betty White, who was given a lifetime achievement award.
An in memoriam tribute was introduced by Melissa Rivers, who said her mother's career was reinvigorated by a daytime talk show after her late-night show was canceled. ‘The Joan Rivers Show’ won a Daytime Emmy in 1990, the only Emmy her mother ever got.
Other winners included ‘Jeopardy!,’ for best game show; Steve Harvey, for host of an informative talk show; and ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show,’ for entertainment talk show.

A pair of giant pandas gifted by China's central government arrived in the Macao Special Administrative Region on Thursday.
A welcome ceremony was held for the pandas at a park in Macao, after which they will begin their 30-day quarantine. The pair of panda left Chengdu on Wednesday, and will make their appearance before the public on June 1. The male panda named Kai-kai, is six years old and weighs 110 kilograms. The female one named Xin-xin, is 7 years old and weighs 110 kilograms.
