A 5.5 magnitude earthquake shook Southwest China on Monday morning.
The quake hit Jianhe County in Guizhou Province. At least four people have been injured, but so far, there are no fatalities.
There are no reports of any major building collapses, although some 3-thousand properties suffered minor damage. At the epicenter, in Nanjia Township, roads were damaged but traffic is moving, with communications and power supplies operating normally.
Some schools in the region have suspended classes. Governments at various levels have sent officials to the quake zone to oversee rescue work.

The Eurozone's seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate declines to 11.3 percent in February. The European Union statistical office Eurostat says it is the lowest rate since May of 2012. Additionally, eurozone deflation eased in March calming fears that the economy is in trouble after four straight months of falling consumer prices.
Eurostat says consumer prices in the 19-nation single currency bloc were down 0.1 percent in March, less than the drop of 0.3 percent in February.
It added unemployment also slipped to 11.3 percent in February, down from a revised 11.4 percent in January and 11.8 percent a year before in a further positive sign. But the threat of deflation in the eurozone remains a global concern. Fears are that a huge bond-buying spree by the European Central Bank came too late to fight off the negative effects of falling prices.
