“公务员”英文表达是civil servant。公务员指的是国家行政机关中具有公务员身份编制的国家工作人员。中国共产党中央组织部（Organization Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee）、人力资源（Ministry of Human Resources）和社会保障部（Social Security），及国家公务员局（State Administration of Civil Service）公布：2015年国家级政府的公务员考试（public service exam）将于10月15至24日举行。

据权威人士称，2015年的公务员招募仍将更多地亲睐于基层人士（candidates who have worked at grassroots levels）。
