The White House Correspondents dinner draws journalists, politicians, Hollywood stars and business executives. But centre-stage was President Barack Obama's speech. He got in quick with a joke on himself over the disastrous website rollout for his health insurance reform legislation.

Ukrainian forces continued their military crackdown against pro-Russian separatists on Saturday in the town of Kramatorsk. At least six people died in the fighting. Some Ukrainian soldiers said the rebels were using civilians as human shields. Ukraine's interior ministry said its troops had re-captured a television tower and the security services headquarters. This video of the Kramatorsk tv tower were supplied by the Ukrainian army. Russia's foreign minister says the U.S. should use its influence with Kiev to halt the military crackdown. Kiev and its western allies accuse Moscow of backing the pro-Russian separatists who've seized control of some parts of east Ukraine. In Donetsk hundreds of pro-Russian rebels stormed the state security headquarters and the governor's business premises. Staff had already left the building after the city fell under rebel control. Large crowds chanted 'We will not forgive Odessa' as the building was ransacked, a reference to Friday's clashes in which at least 42 people died. Pro-Russian separatists in the city have declared a People's Republic of Dontesk' and say they'll hold a secession referendum on May 11th.

Killer blaze at India firework factory

The blaze that ripped through this fireworks factory in central India killed at least 15 people, three of them children. Others suffered serious burns in the fire in Madhya Pradesh state. It wasn't immediately clear what started the blaze. The state government's offering compensation worth just over 1660 U.S. dollars for the families of those who died. Relatives of the injured are being offered half that amount. Fire safety rules throughout India are generally lax, rarely implemented and are not periodically reviewed.

Just a couple weeks after David Moyes got the axe at Old Trafford rumours are swirling surrounding another high profile firing in the world of European football. The latest name to be thrown into the mix Gerardo Martino of Barcelona.
Barca have stuttered into the closing stages of the La Liga season and only have a remote chance of winning the title. This on top a quarter-final exit in the Champions League and defeat in the final of the King's Cup by bitter rivals Real Madrid means that under Martino the side has fallen short of expectations.
The Argentine signed a two-year deal ahead of this campaign but it includes a clause which allows either side to cancel the agreement after the first year.
A number of reports out of Spain say he is now unlikely to stay with former-Barcelona favourite Luis Enrique, currently heading up Celta Vigo, rumoured to lead the list of candidates to replace him. Martino says he'd like to stay and isn't willing to give up on the season just yet.
"These players have never stopped competing and fighting for silverware. In this case, in which we are not doing so well in difficult circumstances, some in which there is no way out, they keep on fighting and competing. That shows the kind of players they are." Gerardo Martino said.
Turning to this weekend in Spain, here is what the three title contendors have on tap.
On Saturday, Barcelona is taking on relegation-threatened Getafe. Barca will need to win and get some help to have a shot of repeating as champs. On Sunday, Atletico are at Levante. With three rounds to go for them win out and they are champs. Later on in the day it's Real at home to Valencia. Real are six back of Atletico heading into the weekend but do have a game in hand.

全国各地大学生庆祝青年节
It's time to celebrate China's Youth Day on May 4th, and college students from across the country have completed a recording at CCTV studios here in Beijing.
A gala completely directed and performed by students. And unlike traditional galas, this year's "Flowers in May" features a series of diverse programs, such as combining stage performances with campus life.
The show "Fly to space" is performed by the Beijing University of Technology, a reflection of the student's dreams of aviation.
Students from China's ethnic minorities are also represented, showcasing unique elements of their local culture. Taiwan's Amis ethnic group performs their new version of a traditional folk song called "Diu Diu Tong", meaning "Tossing Coins".
Foreign students from several countries also participate. A special dance called "When Girls Meet Russian Dolls" performed by Chinese and Russian students mixes dance elements from both countries. Traditional Chinese paper-cuttings appear on traditional wooden Russian dolls, giving a cultural symbol of Russia a tinge of Chinese flavour.
Wrapping up the two hour gala is the recital of a poem expressing the dreams of modern college students. A finale, performed by all of the students, displays their deep affection for their country.
Now in its third year, the Youth Day gala continues to inspire college students all over China.
