About two thousand people take to the streets of Kiev - as anti-government demonstrations continue in the former Soviet republic. Carrying European Union, Ukrainian and opposition flags, demonstrators protested against the government's shelving last week of a free trade agreement with the E.U. and the renewing of closer economic ties with Russia. On Tuesday, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich said he would attend an E.U. summit in the Lithuanian capital of Vilnius next week. But, he criticized the E.U. for a quote "humiliating" financial offer.

Haitian migrant boat capsizes

Dramatic images taken by the U.S. Coast Guard show about 100 Haitian migrants clinging to an overloaded freighter that capsized in the Bahamas Tuesday. At least 10 Haitian migrants were killed when the 40 foot vessel overturned Monday night.Officials say the boat was overloaded and likely hit choppy waters too. U.S. Coast Guard and the Royal Bahamian Defense Force crews worked alongside a U.S helicopter hoisting survivors. They also used life rafts and dropped food and other supplies to survivors.

As Thanksgiving approaches this week in the United States, a developing storm system is predicted to make its way up to New England, disrupting travel plans in this busy holiday season. The wintry weather has already left more than 100 wrecks in highways across the country and claimed at least 12 lives. Now, some flights have been cancelled, leaving travellers stranded.
It’s already walloped parts of Oklahoma and Arkansas and led to the cancellation of about a thousand flights in Dallas. With storms moving up and down the east coast, travelers are keeping a close eye on conditions.

A court in Beijing has affirmed the original verdict for Li Tianyi, after his second trial on Tuesday.
The 17-year-old was among five men who gang-raped a woman at a Beijing hotel in February. Li has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for rape. The case has sparked outcry and heated controversy among the public.
His father, the famous tenor Li Shuangjiang, taught at the Academy of Arts affiliated to the Chinese armed forces. His mother is also a well-known singer.
