TEXT：A thousand miles and counting. This stray dog has become theinspirationfor a group of Chinese cyclists. Nicknamed "Xiaosa", the dog followed the long-distance cyclists after one of them gave it food. "At first we didn't consider keeping it and thought it just wanted to follow us for a while. But it showed very strong willpower and followed us all the way here. There is a steep downhill slope in Litang, so we made a cage for it." Xiaosa ran with the team for 24 days, covering over 1,100 miles from central Hubei Province to Tibet. The little white dog has shown incredible determination, running up to 37 miles in one day."Xiaosa's perseverance moved us a lot. With its encouragement, we finally reached the Potala Palace. He also said that the UN was not blaming the Syrian government. KRT said Kim's visit to the zoo took place on Saturday. Kim was shown watching different animals in the zoo and speaking to zoo officials. KRT said he received reports about the management and operation of the zoo. There seemed to be no other visitors in the zoo at the time of Kim's visit. 1【London Not Gripped by Olympic Fever】伦敦缺乏奥运热（视频下方提供下载）
视频下载（点击右键另存为）LONDON - The Summer Olympics start in London in about two months, on July 27, and while interest has started to build a little, the city is not overflowing with excitement.
At Trafalgar Square, in the heart of the city, the official Olympic countdown clock gets a steady stream of people posing for pictures. But most of them are foreign tourists.
Many Londoners appear indifferent, worried or actually hostile toward the Games.
"I think it is a waste of money," declared Dave Thomas, a man passing through the Square. "All the money that is being wasted could have been spent on something else.”
Jessica, a young woman on crowded Oxford Street was worried about her shopping trips during the Olympics. “It is already busy in London,” she said. “Imagine when the Olympics are here. Imagine how busy it is going to be everywhere. Nobody is going to be able to get around.”
And a woman named Amanda said she is not caught up in the Olympic spirit partly because she doesn’t like the event’s souvenirs. “The stuff they have designed to support the Olympics, they’re absolutely hideous,” she said. “The Olympic logo thing is a complete and utter farce. And those mascot toys that they’ve got, I have not met anyone who thinks they are not completely ridiculous.”
Those Olympics items range in price from just a few dollars to hundreds. And they can be hard to find. So far, they are only available at licensed shops and in official London 2012 stores, mainly at transport hubs.
Olympics merchandising chief Simon Lilley says that is part of the Games’ strategy. “I think the key thing is we are focusing on the quality of distribution,” he said. “So we want them in the right places, putting our brand in the right way. So, I think we have got selective distribution. And I think this will build and build as we move towards the Games.”
Other London 2012 officials like British Olympic gold medalist Jonathan Edwards, who is now a member of the Organizing Committee, believe the enthusiasm will build along with the sales of the souvenirs.
“When you are involved within the Olympic and Paralympic world, it feels like that is everything," he said in a post-Committee meeting interview. " But for people out in the streets, it is kind of like, ‘Oh yeah, the Olympics, that is in the summer and I will, kind of, engage with it when it is actually here.’”
And the Olympics have had another event vying for attention. These days, many people in Britain are more focused on celebrations marking 60 years of Queen Elizabeth’s reign, which culminate with a two-day holiday in early June.
The price tag of the Games also saps some people’s enthusiasm. Estimates range from the official figure of about $20 billion up to $40 billion or more.
But there are some are getting excited about the Olympics. At a visitors’ center overlooking the Olympic Park, a man named Bart, who lives 30 kilometers from the site, said he is not worried about the cost. “I think that people will forget the cost,” he said. “It is the atmosphere and the new life that it brings that people value.”
A woman named Fiona, who was cycling past the visitors’ center, cautioned against listening to people who complain about the cost, inconvenience, security risks and other potentially troublesome aspects of the Games. “I think people do like to moan, don’t they," she noted. “That is their default position. They like to moan. So let them moan. And I am quite happy about it.”
Back on Oxford Street, a teenaged student named Jordan said there may be some problems during the games, but he is taking a long view. “I think overall it’s cool," he said. “I am going to look back on it and say, yeah, I was in London when the Olympics happened.”
That is the attitude Olympics officials are hoping for, but many Londoners are not there yet.

Representatives of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank have gathered in Washington. World Bank President Robert Zoelick spoke to them on Thursday. This is the last time he attends the spring meetings of the two organizations as World Bank president. Earlier this week, Jim Yong Kim was officially chosen as the bank’s twelfth president.
Mr. Zoellick said developing countries are now engines of growth.
“Developing countries have provided two thirds of global growth over the past five years,” he said. But he added that many developing nations still face big problems. He said all members need to work together better “for their common interest.”
The United States traditionally chooses the World Bank head and Europe chooses the IMF chief. But developing nations want more influence.
The World Bank is a development agency. The IMF supports monetary cooperation and provides loans.
IMF chief Christine Lagarde announced Thursday that her group has received promises of over three hundred twenty billion dollars. The money would help nations in trouble. She also said developing nations, what are called the emerging markets, needed to do more.
CHRISTINE LAGARDE: “If you look at, for instance, the emerging markets. They, too, have to address some of their issues. They, too, have to be very attentive to a volatile market situation. And that means, for some of these emerging markets, refocusing on their domestic growth.”
Ms. Lagarde said emerging markets need to work toward growth and building demand. But that requires resources.
Two issues are access to banks and safety nets. The World Bank says three-fourths of the poor have no access to banks. That means no savings in their communities to finance growth. The problem is greater for women. Poor women are twenty-eight percent less likely to have bank accounts than poor men.
Social programs are also needed. Sixty percent of the developing world cannot depend on social programs to protect citizens from hunger or provide services in crises. As a result, experts have called for safety nets.
ROBERT ZOELLICK: “And for the poorest, let’s focus on basic safety nets for every country to deal with the volatility and uncertainty because the other lesson we learned is if you wait until a crisis, it's too late.”
And rich nations have a lot to learn from developing ones. Mr. Zoellick said programs in Brazil and Mexico are not costly, but help millions.
Finally this week, the World Bank Group welcomed its newest member: South Sudan. The nation received its first grant of nine million dollars. The money is to help create jobs and provide financial services.
