1) close call 有两个意思：

1.1) something dangerous almost happened 差点出了事

I almost got hit by a car today, but Bob pushed me out of the way and saved my life! Phew, that was a close call! 我今天差点被车撞!幸好Bob推了我一把﹐ 救我一命! 好险啊!

1.2) a close competition 胜负难分的比赛

3) call the shots 做最后决定
