A song that’s impressed me a lot recently is called ‘see you again’, which was one of the songs in the soundtrack of an action film Furious 7, you know, the most recent instalment of this extremely successful Hollywood franchise. I first heard it when I watched the film a few months ago in a cinema.
It was a tribute song to the late Paul Walker, who died tragically in a car accident before the film was completed. He’d been a dedicated actor, who’d got a lot of close friends in the showbiz and a huge fan base. His sudden death made many hearts burst with grief. The song was played at the end of the film, while showing scenes of every Furious film Paul was in. When I heard the lyrics “we’ve come a long way from where we began, and I’ll tell you when I see you again”, I must say, I couldn’t stop shedding tears.
The song impressed me very much, because the melody and lyrics were so well written, catchy and heart-touching, and I felt that it was the perfect sendoff of Paul Walker. I’ve been a hard-core fan of Paul and the Furious film series. I’ve been moved by how deep the values of family, friends and honour these films have displayed. For me, this song’s marked the end of an era, and was a fitting and honorable farewell to Paul and his character.
