老本，生息的本钱
讲解：
从前养鸡的农夫拿走鸡蛋后，会在窝里放个假蛋，第二天才会继续有蛋可收。这个假蛋就是nest egg (窝中蛋)。nest egg后来引申为一般的「本钱」，尤其是可以用来赚钱的「老本」。
