克里斯汀·斯图尔特在接受采访中很兴奋地表示是她所拍摄过的所有电影中，最认同的一部。她在电影中扮演一个16岁的街头脱衣舞娘，有时她的情绪就如同一个5岁的孩子，她只生活在自己的那个小世界里。后来她遇到一位失去了女儿的水管工，每天沉浸于丧女的痛苦中，在她帮助下，他又重新找回了自己，回到了他的妻子的身边。

自己的问题还解决不完，还在帮助别人解决痛苦，这样的角色克里斯汀坦言以前从没有尝试过，对于自己在表演上而言将是一个极大的挑战。

《欢迎来到利雷家》是一部独立制作影片，片中与克里斯汀有大量对手戏的是好莱坞资深影星、凭《黑道家族》成名的詹姆斯·甘多菲尼，以及去年凭借《冰冻之河》获得奥斯卡最佳女演员提名的梅丽莎·里奥。
