1. Gabrielle: "That sounds so nice. It's just I'm booked solid today. My head's gonna explode. Can I take a rain check?"

rain check: 是指留到下一次吧。本来是指由于下雨天或其他原因而被延误或者推迟的球赛，但观众已经买了票子，退又不方便，所以下次来看的话也一样有效，在TOEFL的听力中经常出现。

2. Lynette: "Give me a break. You know our kids. I love them dearly, but that goes in one ear and out the other."

Goes in one ear and out the other, 字面上就知道是“一个耳朵进，一个耳朵出”的意思。

3. Susan: "Are you saying that I'm the result of my mother having a one-night stand?"

one night stand: 一夜情

4. Bree: "I'm sorry to drop by unannounced, but I just had this disturbing visit from an old friend of yours. A Leila Mitzman."

前面说到拜访他人的时候要提前通知对方，但由于某种重要的或者特殊原因不能提前通知他人就立马来到他人的住所时，你就可以说“I'm sorry to drop by unannounced”意思就是很抱歉没有说一声就来了。

5. George: "One is an antidepressant for mood swings. One is an antipsychotic to control hallucinations. Like I said, she's a very troubled lady."

Kidnap: 绑架和下面一句TOM说的“Tom: "And is he abducting our kids?" abduct也是这个意思。

紫藤道的居民们聚在一起讨论加布丽尔家的神秘入侵者，麦柯克罗斯基夫人建议聘请保安，贝蒂巧妙地打消了众人的这个念头。丽奈特在晚上九点到家时发现双胞胎儿子独自在前院里玩耍，汤姆为了令她安心，试探着问儿子，如果有陌生人试图哄骗他们上车，他们会怎么做。双胞胎聪明地回答会立刻跑开，但当丽奈特请同事斯图伪装成绑架犯时，汤姆目瞪口呆地看着孩子兴高采烈地上了陌生人的车。

加布丽尔去监狱探视，卡洛斯得知流产的消息愤怒不已。一个陌生男人突然出现在加布丽尔的门口，他自称是卡洛斯的狱友赫克托，受卡洛斯之托来保护她。加布丽尔打算用钱打发他，在去银行的途中，赫克托给她一个气球，他告诉加布丽尔把气球当作夭折的胎儿，放开绳子代表向孩子告别。虽然觉得很愚蠢，加布丽尔还是同意了，但是这个完成仪式并没有她想象中的那么轻松。布丽对出现在报纸上的订婚声明暴怒不已，乔治解释说这只是一个疏忽。乔治的前女友见报后警告布丽乔治是个危险人物。乔治对布丽不肯带订婚戒指而耿耿于怀，在一次晚餐时甚至企图强迫她戴上戒指。布丽最终解除了婚约。迈克和麦柯克罗斯基夫人合力抓住了再次出现的凯勒布，整条紫藤道的人们看着警车带走了他。
