The Colony Club was the first social club established in New York City by, and for, women.It was formed in 1903 by Florence Jaffray Harriman, wife of J. Borden Harriman. She modeled it on clubs for prominent men.

关于咖啡的一点知识：

double就是指double shot(打两抢，含双份espresso的分量)
各种杯型：short是小杯，tall是中杯，grande是大杯，venti是超大杯，在星巴克买咖啡不说small / medium / large，他们用的就是tall / grande / venti的叫法
cap: 就是cappuccino的简称，标准的cap里espresso, 牛奶，奶泡各占1/3. 而dry cap是奶泡多，牛奶少，咖啡浓过奶香，适合重口味的人；wet cap的奶泡少，牛奶多。wet cap的味道有点接近latte，都是牛奶的味道盖过咖啡味道。(但是为什么她这里说no foam，我也很confuse，希望知道的同学能告诉我)

splenda: 著名的甜蜜素品牌，它的特别之处在于它一旦被身体吸收，不会分解成碳水化合物，解决了人体需要糖份又因为担心糖会分解成过多碳水化合物而造成对身体的负担的两难境地。大家熟悉的diet coke里选用的就是这种甜蜜素。另外在咖啡店里我们常看到的几个品牌的糖分别是：白色的普通蔗糖（通常是Domino牌的）、粉色的Sweet'N Low和蓝色的Equal's.

den of iniquity: A place of immoral behavior, usually of a sexual type. The origin of the term can be traced back to the New Testament of the Bible. In both Gospel of Mark and Matthew, Jesus condemns those who have been using the sacred temple as a marketplace, proclaiming that they have "made it a den of thieves." To this day, writers use the word "den" to mean a place where iniquitous activities are carried out.

4. Dan: Hey, Dad. Um, you know, Serena was... she was...we're busted.

bust: 做坏事被逮到了。这里是Dan跟Serena在家里make out(亲热)，被Rufus撞见了，所以Dan就说we're busted.

5. Jenny: Dad, Serena's, like, the best thing that's ever happened to Dan. I mean, she's smart, she's funny, and she's, like, nine levels hotter than him.
Dan: Thank you.But she's right.

7. Serea: Blair, it's Chuck. He's somewhere blowing off steam. It's what he does. He'll show up in a couple days minus a few million brain cells and some liver tissue.

blow off steam: 发挥多余的精力。后面那句是暗示他喝很多酒，所以脑细胞跟肝脏都有损伤。

8. Penelope: Daddy? I need you to call headmistress Queller. There's a girl bullying me.

bully: 欺负，经常用在学校里，指恃强凌弱

9. Chuck: That's the problem with an open invitation. You can't keep out the hoi polloi.
Dan: What do you know about my Dad and Lily?
Chuck: So the cat's out of the bag.

open invitation: 没有正式的邀请函，客人可以自己决定到达的时间，也不限制客人的身份。如果有人对你说Please drop by again. You have our open invitation. 意思是下次欢迎你随时 造访，不必预约。另外有个open bar，通常指那些婚礼、宴会上的吧台服务，酒水是免费的。用在酒吧里，open bar表示买一张门票就可以无限畅饮的意思。

Episode Title: In the Real of the Basses

Refers to a Japanesse movie from 1976, In the Real of the Senses. This movie is about the relationship between a Hotel owner and a maid. It is a fictional and sexually explicit treatment of a true story which occurred in 1930s Japan.

Spring semester's in full swing, and Serena van der Woodsen continues to freshen up her school uniform with key accessories. This time around, Serena pairs a leather jacket from Mackage with a gray henley on top of her French Toast pleated skirt.

While Serena accessorizes her school uniform with a cool leather jacket, Blair takes her look to another level with her Victorian-inspired ruffled blouse. On bottom she wears a simple navy skirt, and adds pops of color with her green tights and red headband.

Blair Waldorf looks prepped and polished as she crosses her arms and chats with Dorota. She's layered in lots of labels including a suit from Diane von Furstenberg and a red leather tote from Dior.
