Here grieving parents storm rescue headquarters. They blame the government for the slow pace of the recovery and the frequent changes in information provided by the government. In first few hours after the disaster a provincial office announced that everyone had been rescued.

U.S. President Barack Obama is the first serving American leader to visit this predominantly Muslim nation in decades. During his two day visit, Obama will have much to discuss with his Malaysian counterpart Najib Razak. Talks with Razak are expected to focus on trade, defense and maritime security. But the US president will have a difficult task getting Kuala Lumpur to sign his Trans-Pacific Partnership -- free trade deal with 10 other nations. The trade deal is intended to counter China's growing economic influence in the region but Malaysia is a close trading partner of China and has opposed parts of the deal. During the two-day visit, which follows stops in Japan and South Korea, Obama visited the National Mosque of Malaysia, removing his shoes in keeping with protocol. He stopped for a few moments in a prayer room. Obama will leave Malaysia on Monday for the Philippines, where he will spend two days before returning to Washington.

Residents surveyed the damage from the powerful storms. Around 150 homes were destroyed and more than a dozen people sent to the emergency room. Here in Beaufort residents tried to salvage a precious few items from their crushed mobile homes. Trees were snapped clean in half by powerful winds of around 160 kilometres an hour. Thousands were left without power, although by Sunday most electricity had been restored. And meteorologists warned that the worst is not yet over, as a new severe storm system gains strength in the Great Plains. They say there's a moderate risk of tornadoes touching down in Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas and the lower Mississippi Valley.

China’s national weather authority says torrential rains will fall in parts of the south, while a cold front is to affect the north on Saturday.
The heavy rain will continue for the next three days in Zhejiang, Hunan and Guangdong provinces and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Meanwhile, a strong cold front is forecast to hit the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and areas in northern China, bringing temperatures down by as much as 10 degrees Celsius.

Credit ratings agency Standard & Poor's has cut Russia's rating to one notch above "junk" status. The agency downgraded Russia's rating to triple B minus, from triple B, while maintaining its negative prospects.
The move comes as foreign investors continue to take money out of the country amid tensions over the situation in Ukraine. S&P said the crisis could see additional outflows of both foreign and domestic capital from the Russia's economy.
The agency said this could further undermine already weakening growth prospects. It warned that further downgrades were possible if the West imposed tighter sanctions against Moscow. In the first three months of this year, foreign investors have withdrawn 63.7 billion US dollars from Russia, and economic growth has slowed significantly.
