Some 2 million JP Morgan Chase debit card customers will have tighter daily limits placed on their purchases. The bank told customers who used its debit cards at Target stores recently it's limiting cash withdrawals to just $100 a day and limiting daily purchases to $300. It's happening just when customers are gearing up for last minute holiday shopping. It's all because of the recent data theft at Target stores across the country. The retailer said earlier 40 million credit and debit card accounts may have been compromised by hackers. JP Morgan Chase says the new temporary measures are a just a precaution and effect fewer than 10 percent of its debit card accounts. The limits don't apply to Chase credit cards.
The media have flocked to Hotel Adlon in Berlin. That's where former Russian tycoon Mikhail Khodorkovsky is thought to be. He was jailed for a decade in Russian prisons for challenging President Vladimir Putin. But on Friday, Khodorkovsky was unexpectedly freed by a Presidential pardon from Putin himself. He hastily flew to Germany to reunite with family, and on Saturday, gave his first interview since his release to a Russian magazine which published these photos. In Moscow, former Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov - a prominent opposition leader -- thinks the secretive nature of the prison release was likely Putin's idea.
(SOUNDBITE) (Russian) FORMER RUSSIAN PRIME MINISTER MIKHAIL KASYANOV, SAYING: "He flew to Germany immediately, without even traveling to St.Petersburg or Moscow, to his home….It means he is in a forced political emigration. How long will it last for? We have to see how the situation develops."
Kasyanov thinks the release was meant to soften Western criticism of Putin's Russia, as it prepares to host the Winter Olympics. But he cautions against writing off Putin's political opponent just yet.
(SOUNDBITE) (Russian) FORMER RUSSIAN PRIME MINISTER MIKHAIL KASYANOV, SAYING: "Under Putin's regime Khodorkovsky of course will not run in the elections, but in the future... he is still a young man, he is just 50, everything is still ahead of him."
Khodorkovsky was jailed in area once part of Stalin's Gulag labor camps. In leaving Russia on a hastily issued passport --and possibly into exile - he follows a route taken by dissidents during Russia's Soviet-era past.

Sunday marks the winter solstice of 2013. The Northern Hemisphere will have its longest night and shortest day in the year.
The Winter Solstice is an astronomical phenomenon as well as a traditional holiday in many cultures. The Chinese tradition of celebrating dates back some 2,000 years. For many, it’s nearly as important as the Spring Festival, or the Chinese New Year.
In Northern China, people make dumplings known as jiaozi, and in the country’s South, it’s glutinous rice dumplings. These traditions carry wishes for family reunions and a good harvest in the next year. People also drink wine to fend off the cold and visit the graves of family members. The Winter Solstice is one of 24 solar terms on the traditional East Asian calendar.

Anti-government protesters have gathered at various sites in Bangkok in a bid to force Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and her government out of power. The protests come a day after the opposition Democrat Party announced it would boycott an election in February.
Sunday’s protests are expected to reach a climax this afternoon. The general election is slated for February the 2nd, 2014.
The Democrat Party says it will not file any candidates, and insists the election be postponed until political reform is carried out.
Meanwhile, Yingluck has offered to set-up a national reform council immediately after the election. The Prime Minister says the council should consist of political party representatives, academics, businesspeople and government officials.
