The troubled Fukushima nuclear plant's operators are facing yet more criticism. On Friday the Tokyo Electric Power Co released this footage of a probe from one of the reactors. But Japan's nuclear watchdog said on Monday that radioactive water is seeping into the ocean creating an "emergency" Tepco is struggling to contain. The contaminated groundwater has breached an underground barrier and is rising towards the surface, says the nuclear regulator.

Tepco has been buffeted by criticised since the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami that wrecked the Fukushima plant. Masashi Goto, a retired nuclear engineer who worked on several Tepco plants, says the company has not been proactive in resolving the contamination crisis. He says the current situation is more than Tepco can handle. The regulatory task force overseeing Fukushima said "new measures are needed to stop the water from flowing into the sea''. Each day Tepco pumps out 400 tonnes of groundwater that flows in from surrounding hills to try to stop it mixing with the highly irradiated water used to cool the reactors. Tepco now admits that tainted water is reaching the sea, saying on Friday the radioactive discharge is out of control.

They're among more than 80 people across Pakistan who've lost their lives in floods caused by unusually heavy monsoon rain. Witnesses said they'd tried in vain to save the trio.

It's a similar story in Afghanistan. The monsoon floods killed more than 60 people here in Sarobi, less than an hour from Kabul. Hundreds of traditional mud-brick homes have been washed away. People in remote villages have been left without shelter, food or power. The floods in both countries are being blamed for more than 160 deaths in total so far.

The heatwave is continuing to hit many parts of China. Dozens of cities and counties are experiencing temperatures up 40 degrees Celsius. And, the Central Meteorological Bureau is continuing to issue the second highest orange heat alert.
There seems to still be no end in sight for the summer heatwave in Southern China. Temperatures have been reaching up to 40 degrees Celsius in some places over the last two days.
Fujian, Anhui and Guangdong have been the worst hit.
Xia Lihua, forecaster of Fujian Provincial Meteorological Center, said, "High temperature is expected to last until Friday in Fujian Province. Nanping, Sanming, Ningde, and Fuzhou are all expected to see temperatures above 36 degrees."
In some famous scenic spots in Fuzhou, the heat has kept tourists away.
A businessman in Fuzhou said, "Business here is not very well in such a hot day. It is over above 40 degrees Celsius. people prefer to stay inside."
In Hefei City, authorities have upgraded the alert to the highest level. Residents are lining up to buy air-conditioners. And in Guangzhou city, fans and water sprayers have been set up in bus stops to keep passengers cool.
Residents in Guangzhou said, "This cooling system plays an important role in such a hot weather."
Guanzhou authorities have also opened shelters for citizens to escape the heat. The high temperatures are expected to last until the middle of August.

The Firestone Country Club was bathed in sunshine on the final day of play. Here’s Luke Donald at the third, and his second shot sails through the air to land quite nicely, just a few feet away from the hole He would birdie here to go to eight-under.
Keegan Bradley on the 17th green, and he’s looking to sink this putt to go eight-under as well, which he does.
Henrik Stenson also at 17, and this is a nice chip from the fairway to the green, the ball then rolling back to give him a good chance at a birdie. So he follows up by judging this putt perfectly, to also go to eight-under. Stenson and Bradley end up tied for second.
And now to Woods at the par-four, tenth hole, this ball will take a high arc before landing nicely, and rolling towards the flag. The World Number One with more great ball striking.
And here he is on the 18th, for the win, and he’s not gonna miss from there. Tiger easing to a seven-shot victory, his 79th win on the Tour. He looks in great shape to pick up his first major win in five years at the PGA Championship which starts on Thursday.
So here you see the leaderboard, it’s a runaway for Woods. Bradley and Stenson played well, but this was no ordinary tournament, with Tiger at his best, and now the golf world waits to see if he performance can carry over to Oak Hill, this upcoming weekend.
