　　When analyzing Black politics, scholars usually use data of election votes but rarely pay attention to other economic resources. However recently some scholars discover the importance of other economic resources – campaign funds.

　　Scholars不参考campaign funds的原因：data about campaign funds was unavailable before 1970s (考点) 因为在职官员竞选时资金充裕(他可以利用政府内已有的资源)，所以他的对手往往不能成功。这一状况尤其发生在黑人政治家参加竞选时，因为black politicians一般无法筹措到足够的资金，他们很难打败在职的竞选对手。
