New York Governor Andrew Cuomo says he will resign following a barrage of sexual harassment allegations and the threat of impeachment. An investigation by New York's attorney general found that Cuomo sexually harassed at least eleven women.

Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul will become governor of New York when Cuomo's resignation takes effect in two weeks. The centrist Democrat from western New York will become the state's first female governor.

The US Senate has approved the $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure plan, which provides new spending for roads, bridges and broadband internet and other public works projects. The bill now heads to the House while the Senate turns to an even bigger $3.5 trillion spending package.
