Before we start, what is "shit"? Does anyone know?

So let's get started, oh, sorry, one other thing: pronunciation.

Students often mispronounce the word: "shit", they say: "sheet", "sheet".

You see? They smile when they say it, "shit" is not something you smile about.

My first expression today is one of my favorites: "shitty", "shitty".

When we say it, the "ty" almost becomes like a "dy" sound, and "shit" is longer and louder, "shitty".

"Shitty", what does it mean? When something is "shitty", it's bad, it's a synonym of bad.

So, for example: "Today I had a shitty day", meaning: today I had a bad day. Okay?
比如"Today I had a shitty day"，意思是我今天过得不好。
You can ask someone: -"How was work today?" -"Oh, work was shitty. I had a really shitty experience at work."

Okay? So it's an adjective.Our second expression: "shit-faced".

Now, important how you pronounce the "ed", it's like a "t" in this case. Okay?

So we don't say: "shit-faced", no, no, no, "shit-faced", okay, "shit-faced".

What does it mean to be shit-faced? "Shit-faced" means very, very, drunk.

Let's look at our third expression: "shit-box", a "shit-box" is a car.

If you said: "Bad car", you are correct.

Okay? It looks like it is going to fall apart at any moment, it's usually a very cheap car.

So maybe you're on the street and you see your friend and he's driving a shit-box.

All right, similarly, so "shit-box" is car, a "shit-hole" is a way to describe a place someone lives. Okay?

Cockroaches, do you know what a cockroach is?
cockroaches，你们知道cockroach是什么吗？
It's one of those insects that lives in people's apartments, they're really disgusting.
它就是一种生活在人们的住所里的昆虫，非常恶心。
So it's a type of bug, if you have cockroaches in your apartment, you might...may be living in a shit-hole.
它是一种虫子，如果你的公寓里有蟑螂，那你可能住在shit-hole里。
Our next word: "shit-disturber".
我们的下一个单词是"shit-disturber"（爱生事的人）。
Just like: "teacher", "worker", "officer", "manager", these are all "er" words.
和"teacher", "worker", "officer", "manager"一样，这些都是用"er"结尾的单词。
Can you guess what "shit-disturber" is? It's a person.
你们能猜到"shit-disturber"是什么吗？它是一种人。
If you know a shit-disturber, a "shit-disturber" is someone who likes to make drama, likes to cause drama.
如果你们认识"shit-disturber"，"shit-disturber"就是喜欢搞事的人，喜欢惹事生非。
They like it when a situation is not relaxed, but there are many problems.
他们不喜欢轻松的状况，而是喜欢很多麻烦。
So, for example: maybe...oh, this should be "my", okay, maybe I have a sister and I have a mother, and I really like a boy, but maybe he's a bad boy and my family won't like him.
举个例子来说，也许......哦，这应该是"my"，好了，假设我有个姐姐还有个妈妈，然后我非常喜欢一个男生，但是可能他是个坏男孩，我家人不会喜欢他。
I tell my sister: "Don't tell mom, but I have a new boyfriend. It's someone mom won't like."

If my sister is a shit-disturber, she wants to see drama, she wants to see problems.

So she will tell my mom: "Emma is going out with a bad boy."

My sister told my mom about my boyfriend, she's a shit-disturber." meaning: my sister is a shit-disturber.
我的姐姐告诉了我妈妈我交了男朋友的事，她是个"shit-disturber"，意思就是我姐姐是个爱生事的人。
So it's a person who likes to create problems for people. Okay? They're a shit-disturber.Let's look at five more expressions.
所以这个词形容的是喜欢给别人制造麻烦的人，可以把这种人叫做"shit-disturber"。我们再看五个表达。
Okay, sixth on our list is: "Don't give a shit.", or "Don't give 2 shits."
我们的第六个表达是"Don't give a shit."或者"Don't give 2 shits."（一点儿也不在乎）。
So you have a choice: "Don't give a shit.", meaning one shit, or "Don't give 2 shits."
你们可以选择用"Don't give a shit"，只有一个"shit"，也可以说"Don't give 2 shits"。
Both, you will hear both in movies, in conversation.
这两种你们在电影里，对话中都会听到。
So how do you use it? "Well, I don't give a shit." And what does this mean?
怎么用呢？可以说"Well, I don't give a shit."，这是什么意思呢？
It means: "I don't care." Okay? "I don't give a shit. I don't care."
意思是我不在乎，可以说"I don't give a shit. I don't care."
So maybe...maybe you were supposed to...well, this...a teacher would never say this. Okay?
也许......也许你们应该......在现实生活中，老师是不会这么说的。
But just an example, maybe you didn't do your homework and you go to your teacher and you say: "I didn't have time,

you know, my dog ate my homework, I'm really stressed with school, I have all these problems."

What your teacher probably wants to say, but won't, is: "I don't give a shit.", meaning: I don't care what your problems are.

I don't think teachers actually think this, but it's always possible.
我觉得老师实际上也不会这么想，不过总有可能嘛。
Number two: "Scared the shit out of me!"
第二个："Scared the shit out of me!"（吓死我了）。
Okay? If somebody scares the shit out of you, it means...or something scares the shit out of you, it means you are very, very scared.
如果有人"scares the shit out of you"，就是说......或者某个东西"scares the shit out of you"，意思就是你觉得非常非常害怕。
Okay? Just very scared, so, for example, what scares me?
就是非常害怕，比如，什么能吓到我呢？
Ghosts, ghosts scare me, if I hear a weird noise at night, maybe I might think it's a ghost, maybe I might jump to that conclusion.
鬼，鬼会吓到我，如果我晚上听到了奇怪的声音，我可能会以为是鬼，可能我会匆忙下决定。
And so if I hear a strange sound, I might say: "Oh, that scared the shit outta me!"
所以如果我听到了奇怪的声音，我可能会说 "Oh, that scared the shit outta me!"（天呐，吓死我了）。
I might say: "That scared the shit out of me. It scared the shit outta me!"
我可能会说"That scared the shit out of me. It scared the shit outta me!"
Maybe you've seen a movie, maybe Paranormal Activity, that movie was very scary, it scared the shit outta me! Okay?

You might notice, here I wrote: "out of me", and here I wrote: "outta me", what's the difference?
你们可能注意到了，我在这里写了"out of me"，而在这里写了"outta me"，有什么区别呢？
Often times, when we say: "out of me", we don't say it like this, it's too formal, too slow.
通常我们讲"out of me"，我们不会这么说，太正式了，讲得太慢了。
We usually link our words, and instead in conversation, we will say: "outta me".
我们通常会连读，在对话中我们会说"outta me"。
Okay? So can you say that? "Outta me".
知道了吗？你们可以读一下吗？"outta me"。
"It scared the shit outta me!" Okay, good.
跟我读："It scared the shit outta me!"，好的，很好。
"Full of shit". Okay? I like this expression, what does it mean to be full of shit?
下一个表达是"full of shit"（满口谎言），我很喜欢这个表达，它是什么意思呢？
Well, if you are full of shit, it means you are lying.
如果你"full of shit"，意思就是你在撒谎。
If someone is full of shit, they are not telling the truth; they're lying.
如果某个人"full of shit"，意思就是他们没有说实话，他们在撒谎。
If you told me the sky was green or the sky was...what color could the sky be?
如果你告诉我天空是绿色的或者天空是......天空还可以是什么颜色呢？
If the sky was...yeah, green, I would say: "You're full of shit. It's blue. I know it's blue."
如果天空是......没错，绿色，那我会说：“你尽胡扯，天空是蓝色的，我知道是蓝色的。”
Okay? So it means: you're lying, "He's so full of shit", he's lying.
知道了吗？所以它的意思是：你在撒谎，"He's so full of shit"就是说他在撒谎。
"Shitting me", "shitting me", what does this mean?
下一个词："shitting me"（耍我/骗我），这是什么意思呢？
Well, we often ask the question: "Are you shitting me?" meaning: are you lying to me?
我们经常会问这个问题："Are you shitting me?" ，意思就是：你在骗我吗？
So in this one, it also means lying.
所以这一个表达的意思也是撒谎骗人。
You could also say: "Don't shit me.", "Are you shitting me?"
你们也可以说"Don't shit me."（别骗我），或者 "Are you shitting me?"
And again: are you lying? Are you telling the truth?
意思还是：你在撒谎吗？你说的是实话吗？
We use it often times when someone tells us something that is very surprising.
我们经常在有人告诉我们某个非常令人惊讶的事情的时候用这个表达。
If a student came running up to me and said: "You know Brad Pitt, the actor? He's outside the school right now and he wants to talk to you."
假如有个学生跑过来告诉我说：“你知道那个演员布拉德皮特吗？他现在就在学校外面，他想跟你讲话。”
I would say to my students: "Are you shitting me?" meaning: are you lying? Is that true? So we use it that way.
我会跟我的学生说：“你在耍我吗？”，意思就是：你在撒谎吧？是真的吗？我们会这样用。
To "talk shit", when you talk shit, it means you don't tell the truth.
下一个："talk shit"（扯淡/说坏话），当你"talk shit"时，意思就是你没有说实话。
Okay? And usually it means you're talking badly about someone.
通常还有讲别人坏话的意思。
So you're talking badly about someone you know, maybe a teacher, a friend, so it's not a good thing.
就是在讲某个你认识的人的坏话，可能是位老师，一个朋友，所以这不是好事。
To "talk shit" means to talk about people in a bad way.
"talk shit"的意思就是以一种不好的方式谈论别人。
Someone might say: "Stop talking shit! Stop talking shit about me." meaning: don't say not nice things about me, okay, so, stop talking shit.
有人也许会说："Stop talking shit! Stop talking shit about me."，意思就是：不要说我的坏话了，不要再乱讲了。
So, I decided to add a bonus, there are so many shit expressions, I decided to add one more that I really like, and that is: "bullshit".
我决定再额外给你们讲一个，有很多用"shit"组成的表达，我决定再加上一个我很喜欢的，那就是："bullshit"（胡说）。
Do you know what a bull is? A bull like this, you know, it's like a boy cow, that's a bull.
你们知道bull是什么吗？bull就是这样的，公牛就是bull。
So a bull is an animal, "bullshit" means it's not true.
bull是一种动物，而"bullshit"的意思是这不是真的。
A lot of these mean it's not true, we can also say: "B.S.", "Bullshit" and "B.S." are the same thing.
很多这种表达的意思都是这不是真的，我们还可以说"B.S."，"Bullshit"和"B.S."是同样的意思。
Sometimes people say: "B.S." to be a little bit more polite, although it's still not polite, it's just a little bit better.
有时候人们为了稍微礼貌一点，会说"B.S."，虽然这还是不礼貌，但是稍微好一点点。
So if somebody tells you something that you don't believe: "That's total bullshit!"
所以如果有人跟你讲了某些你不相信的事情，你可以说"That's total bullshit!"（完全是胡说）。
Okay? "That's not true, that's bullshit. That's B.S." Okay?
可以说 "That's not true, that's bullshit. That's B.S." ，知道了吗？
