Zhang Jia jing1 has worked on the urban planning of Jiading District's new central area, the design of low-rent housing at Xuhui Riverside, office buildings in Shanghai's free trade zone and schools from Beijing to Anhui. He was honored at the China International Architectural Biennial and by Shanghai's Municipal Urban Planning Commission. Chen Xuan talks with Zhang about what inspires him.
