1. Blair: Well, if it's casual like you say, no strings... Then what do you expect? It's not like you're gonna marry the guy.
Serena: I kind of did marry him. We got carried away. I talked to Cyrus. He said it doesn't count.
Blair: Let me get this straight. He goads you into making the ultimate commitment, and now he can't stick it out through a whole dinner?

Blair: Gabriel is disappearing for a reason. We need to get to the bottom of it.

no strings: 没有限制，没有附加条件，完整的说法是no strings attached. 用在这里就是说Serena和男友Gabrielle虽然谈恋爱，但是对双方既没有承诺也没有要求，来去自由。
carry away: to move or excite greatly
it doesn't count: 那不算数，意思是S的那段酒后宣誓的婚姻无效。
Let me get this straight: 恕我直言，我就直说了吧
goad: 本意是赶牲口用的刺棒，引申含义就是刺激某人做某事
stick it out: 坚持
get to the bottom of it: 寻根问底，找出事实真相

Gabriel: And you know that there's nothing else I'd rather do, but I'm a little behind on reviewing the prospectus. This is important to me.

redneck: 这是对美国南方劳动农民的一种贬义称呼，相当于说他们是“南方乡下人”，B之前听说Gabrielle来自于南方，就一直说“那个南方人如何如何”。
catch someone red-handed: 当场活捉，这里B是特地用了两个red来玩了一把文字游戏

Serena: As long as it's not physical, then I... I guess I can live with it.

cushion the blow: cushion有“减缓冲击”的意思，结合它的本意“垫子”应该不难理解。blow就是打击，cushion the blow意思就是减缓这件事情给她的打击，减少伤害。
physical: 这里的意思是只要你们两个人没有肉体关系
I can live with it: 我还可以忍受

5. Chuck: She told you about our little run-in last night.
Nate: You told me you'd back off.

run-in: 偶遇
back off: 靠边站，不管这件事，和leave it alone很像，但是语气更加严厉。

6. Blair: I thought if I proved the North Caro liar was cheating with his ex, that would be it, but she fell for his business meeting excuse-- monkey business, more likely.
Chuck: With Serena and Poppy both fighting over the banana.
Blair: I'm really worried, Chuck. You know how Serena is. She gets in over her head. We need to expose this two-timer for what he is.

fall for: to be deceived or swindled by，对谎言深信不疑
monkey business: silly, mischievous, or deceitful acts or behavior. 骗人的把戏
get in: to become or cause to become involved 陷入
two-timer: to be unfaithful to (a spouse or lover), double-cross，辟腿的人，同时有两个女(男)朋友

Gabrielle: Poppy, it is not like that. You know it's not.

connections: 人际关系，也可以用network。networking这个单词也可以做动词用，表示“搞人际关系，经营人际关系”

Rufus: Good point.

fall flat (on one’s face): to fail to achieve a desired effect达不到预期效果, 完全失败
good point: 有道理

9. Chuck: So I heard you, uh, first met Serena on one of her infamous nights with Georgina. You know, I've always wanted to know what happened. It must be quite the story.

infamous: 臭名昭著的，声名狼藉的
It must be quite the story: 肯定大有文章，肯定有猛料

10. Lily: Well, this is just the sort of thing that some of us at bass have been pushing for. Doing well by doing good.
Gabrielle: Yes. But the only thing is there's a ticking clock. Some of the major internet corporations are pushing to do a similar thing. If we act now, we block them completely and we make at least triple our investment.

a ticking clock: 时间不等人，老外还很喜欢说The clock is ticking, tick就是钟表的“滴答”声，同样也是表示urgent的意思。
