Mary Alice Voiceover:"As a child, she felt guilty about not getting straight "A"s... ..As a teenager, she felt guilty about letting her boyfriend go to second base... ...As a newlywed, she felt guilty about taking three weeks to get out her thank-you cards... ..she knew the transgressions of her past were nothing compared with the sin she was about to commit."

Newlywed：a person recently married 刚结婚不久的人
Sin：罪，这个字很有典故哦，呵呵，不知道大家有没有看过1995年由David Fincher导演，Brad Pitt ,Morgan Freeman主演的“Se7en”译为“七宗罪”的影片。这里的罪就是SIN，圣经上说，人们一生下来就都有SIN，每个人都有。“Seven”在宗教上是个神秘的数字，这一点在旧约中有最充分的表现。上帝用七天造亚当，取出亚当的第七根肋骨造了夏娃。撒旦的原身是有七个头的火龙（《启示录》第十二章第三节写道:“有一条大红龙，七头，也戴着冠冕……火龙就是那古蛇，名叫魔鬼，又叫撒旦，是迷惑普天下的……”），撒旦也是地狱中最大的魔王，共有七名堕落天使被称为撒旦，其中最有名的莫过于路西弗 (Lurifer)，《失乐园》记述的其实就是路西弗，其余六名被称为撒旦魔王的堕落天使是：何撒兹勒 (Azazel，电影《驱魔人》中提及的恶魔。) 、别西人(Beelzubub)、彼列 (Beliel)、亚巴顿 (Abadon)、莫斯提马 (Mastema)、萨麦尔 (Samael)。到十六世纪后，基督教更直接用撒旦的七个恶魔的形象来代表七种罪恶（七宗罪，the seven deadly sins）：傲慢 (Pride)，嫉妒(Envy)，暴怒(Wrath)，懒惰(Sloth)，贪婪(Greed)，饕餮(Gluttony)，以及贪欲(Lust)。

2. Andrew: "Maybe I could go to Canada, you know, until the statute of limitations is up."

怎么一犯错了，都想逃到加拿大去呢？我还以为只有中国那些贪官会选择逃到加国去，原来美国人也会有这种想法。CANADA到底是个国家呢？还是个避难所。

3. Danielle: "Do you really think mom and dad are going to foot the bill while you go moose hunting for seven years?"

foot the bill：付款，买单。从Danielle的话中，我们可以知道，在他们那个镇，Statute of Limitations是7年。
Susan: "She's been in a coma ever since she came out of ER. Nobody knows when or even if she'll wake up." Coma:昏迷 ER：我觉得因该是Emergency Room的缩写。

4. Lynette: "Slow down, you jerk, this is a residential neighborhood."

jerk: an annoyingly stupid or foolish person your jerk:老美常用来骂人的话。

5. Lynette: "It pisses me off. I've got four kids, you know. I was up all night reading statistics online. One out of every four traffic accidents happens on residential streets. I hope whoever hit Juanita gets put away for life."

Piss me off:另我生气，lynette最后句话的意思是，希望把那个凶手，关起来，关他个终身。

6. Lynette: "An innocent woman gets hit by a car and the driver just takes off? I don't think it's extreme."

Take off:这里是逃跑的意思，还可以解释脱(衣、帽、鞋等)，还有飞机起飞也可以用take off.

7. Gabrielle: "You should go home and get some rest, eat something. You have a ton of messages from work--Tanaka called; said it was urgent. Carlos, I can stay here with your mother."

Ton:吨的意思，这里的a ton of messages是夸张的用法，美国人平时讲话是就很喜欢用夸张的方式，还记得上一集中TOM形容自己的IDEA嘛？那是用了KILLER一词，也是夸张手法。与a tone of很相象的还有thanks a million,就表示感谢的意思，但多了个million，也是夸张的手法。

8. Carlos: "And what if she dies? People slip into comas all the time and never come out."

这里的come out：是苏醒的意思。

9. Martha: "That's it! I can put up with your debauchery and your food theft, but I will not tolerate spying. I want you out."

大家有没有注意到，这句话中有2个相同意义的词。Put up with=tolerate:都是忍受的意思。

10. Lynette: I hope this works. My sleep cycle is totally out of whack. I'm up all night, I'm dozing off during the day."

out of whack：out of proper order or shape

11. Dr. Chang: "I'm not licensed to write prescriptions.

" Prescriptions：处方，Dr.Chang的意思是，我没有开处方的执照，所以她不能为LNYYETTE开任何要，在美国，开处方药是严格要求的，不是什么医生都有资格开的。好象在上海的医院也有这种规定了，买处方要，一定有出示什么医生或医院开的处方单。

12. Dr. Chang: "This will put you right to sleep. It's a very powerful herbal remedy. Now promise me you're going to use it judiciously?"

herbal：草药 remedy：治疗

13. Andrew: "Whatever. I'm off the hook."

off the hook 1 : out of trouble 2 : free of responsibility or accountability

14. Lynette: "That's what's so humiliating. Other moms don't need help. Other moms make it look so easy. All I do is complain."
Susan: "That's just not true. When, when Julie was a baby, I, I was out of my mind almost every day."
Bree: "I used to get so upset when Andrew and Danielle were little. I used their nap times to cry."
Lynette : "Why didn't you ever tell me this?"
Bree: "Oh, baby. Nobody likes to admit that they can't handle the pressure."
Susan: "I think it's just that we think that it's easier to keep it all in."
Lynette: "Well, we shouldn't. We should tell each other this stuff."

听到她们的对话，真的觉得做母亲不容易，把我们拉扯大，所以我们一定要对妈妈好，等我们长大了，一定要孝敬她们。

在儿子和良心之间权衡再三，布丽还是决定丢弃新车来掩盖安德鲁的肇事逃逸，但是布丽觉得儿子至少应该受到良心上的谴责，当她对安德鲁的不安感到些许宽慰时，他却坦诚担心的是新车的命运和自己的将来，决不是为了被撞的胡安妮塔而内疚。

胡安妮塔继续陷入昏迷状态，约翰突然捧着花束出现在病房，他告诉加布丽尔他对这段婚外情非常内疚，并向神父作了忏悔。卡洛斯自说自话地宣称要个孩子，加布丽尔断然回绝了他。

丽奈特长期服用儿童用的镇定剂而失眠，针灸和按摩也无法使她放松，在恍惚中丽奈特看见玛丽-爱丽丝递给她一把枪，她毫不犹豫地向自己扣动了扳机。虽然只是一个梦，丽奈特清楚地明白自己正陷入困境。苏珊和布丽找到了她，三个好友哭成一团。

苏珊受邀来到迈克家，却发现了大量的现金和一把手枪，迈克愤怒地赶走了她，第二天却出现在苏珊的门口请求她的原谅。

伪装后的私人侦探约伊蒂谈生意，伊蒂无意中透露信纸是胡布太太的东西。愤怒的保罗质问胡布太太为何要恐吓玛丽，并掐住了她的脖子。
