Other leaders include the President of the Commonwealth of Dominica Nicholas Liverpool, and Icelandic President Olafur Ragnar Grimsson.

During the meeting with President of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Hu Jintao said that China and Dominica have maintained sound and stable growth in their friendly relations. The two nations established diplomatic ties for years ago.

The Chinese President noted the two countries have maintained high-level contacts and deepened mutual political trust. He said they have supported each other and enhanced coordination in international and multilateral affairs.

Hu Jintao said China cherishes its friendly relations with Dominica, an important country in the eastern Caribbean. He called for the two countries to work together in diverse fields to achieve common development and prosperity.

Liverpool thanked China for its support for Dominica over the years. He reiterated his country's support for the one-China policy. The Dominican leader agreed with the Chinese president that the two countries should continue to expand all-round cooperation.

Hu Jintao also met with Iceland's President Olafur Ragnar Grimsson at the Great Hall of the People.

He said China and Iceland have enjoyed a traditional friendship and maintained friendly cooperation. He said the relationship is a good example of equal treatment and friendly cooperation between nations -- though they have different social systems and are at different stages of development.

Hu Jintao added the China-Iceland free trade negotiations are on a smooth track. He said China hopes for an agreement at an early date, on the bases of equality and practicality.

Grimsson said Iceland and China have been expanding cooperation in diverse sectors. He said the two countries have set a paradigm for successful cooperation between a small country and a large one.

Grimsson said he hopes the two sides work together to strengthen exchanges and cooperation. He cites economy and trade, higher education, science and technology, earthquake prediction and utilization of geothermal energy.
