The white Dallas cop who fatally shot a black man inside his home -- after mistaking his apartment for her own -- has been arrested and charged with manslaughter, according to officials.

Amber Guyger, 30, was booked last Sunday night in the Kaufman County Jail. Her bond was set at $300,000.

The sheriff's office told CBS that Guyger is expected to make her bond and be released.

She is accused of killing 26-year-old Botham Jean inside his South Side Flats apartment last Thursday night after accidentally walking inside -- thinking it was her own residence. Guyger had just finished her shift and was still in uniform.

At first, she was given a slap on the wrist and asked to take a leave of absence. But authorities later obtained new evidence in the case, which led the Dallas District Attorney's Office to file charges, according to S. Lee Merritt, the lawyer for Botham's family.

He called on the DA's office to treat her "like every other citizen, and where there is evidence that they've committed a crime, that there's a warrant to be issued and an arrest to be made."
