HONG KONG/BEIJING (Reuters) - China'slong-awaited international payment system to process cross-bor uantransactions is ready, and may be launched as early as September or October, three sources with direct knowledge of the matter told Reuters.
香港/北京(路透社)中国等待已久的用于处理跨境人民币业务的国际支付系统已经准备完毕，最早可能在九月份或者十月份开始启用，知道这方面消息的三个信息来源对路透社说。

The launch of the China InternationalPayment System (CIPS) will remove one of the biggest hurdles tointe rnationalizing the yuan and should greatly increase global usage of theChinese currency by cutting transa ction costs and processing times.
中国国际支付系统的启用将消灭人民币国际化的最大障碍中的一个，通过削减交易成本和处理时间，还能大大地提高人民币的全球使用率。
It will also put the yuan on a more evenfooting with other major global currencies like the U.S. dollar, as CIPS isexpected to use the same messaging format as other international paymentsystems, making transactions smoother.
并且将使得人民币与其他主要国际货币拥有更加平等的基础，比如美元，因为中国国际支付系统将使用与其他国际支付系统一样的消息格式，从而让交易更加的快速平稳。
CIPS, which would be a worldwide payments superhighwayfor the yuan <CHN=> <CNY=CFXS>, will replace a patchwork of existing networks that make processing renminbi payments a more cumbersome process.
这个系统将成为人民币在全世界范围内的一个支付高速公路，将替代现有的笨拙的支付体系。
"The CIPS is ready now and China hasselected 20 banks to do the testing, among which 13 banks are Chine e banks andthe rest are subsidiaries of foreign banks," said a senior banking sourcewho is involved in th e matter.
“中国国际支付系统已经准备好，中国已经挑选20多家银行来进行测试，其中13家是中国的银行，剩余的是外国银行的子公司，”一名涉及该事务的高级银行工作人员如是说道。
The official launch will be in September orOctober, depending on the results of the testings and prepara tion, the sourcesaid.

Currently, cross-border yuan clearing hasto be done either through one of the offshore yuan clearing banks in the likesof Hong Kong, Singapore and London, or else with the help of a correspondentbank in mainland China.
目前，跨境的人民币清算得通过离岸的人民币清算银行，比如香港，新加坡或者伦敦，或者通过在中国大陆的代理银行的帮助。
"Misunderstandings under the currentclearing system happen from time-to-time due to different languages andcodings. The CIPS is a breakthrough since it will offer a united platform andenhance efficiency," said Raymond Yeung, an analyst at ANZ in Hong Kong.
