On 2016, now that we’ve seen the Democratic candidates in their first debate and how they did -- and maybe you can share some of your thoughts on how much you watched of that -- (laughter)-- do you feel like the window now has closed on the Vice President entering the race? And if you don’t feel that it’s closed, do you feel that he, in a sense, owes it to fellow Democrats to get in very soon?

The Democratic debate was taking place at the same time as some ball games -- (laughter)-- so there was a little bit of clicking back and forth. I’m not going to comment on what Joe is doing or not doing. I think you can direct those questions to my very able Vice President.

The one observation I’ll make about the Democratic debate was that those are all some very fine people. They share a belief in an economy that is working for everybody and not just a few. They share a belief that America has to project strength around the world by maintaining the finest military, but also by making sure that we’ve got a strong economy back home, that we're employing diplomacy and working with other nations wherever possible to solve big problems, like climate change.

So what was interesting to me was the degree to which -- although there are some very real differences among the candidates, and I’m sure those will emerge, and there may be for each candidate some differences with my administration-- overall, they very much -- we very much share a vision of an economy that works for everybody and effective pursuit of America’s national security through all the tools that are available to us. And I was very impressed with all of them, and I know them personally.And they're good people.

Media reports say President Xi is expected to preside over the signing of several multi-billion US dollar business deals during his visit to the UK. One of the deals reportedly will bring China into the heart of Britain's civil nuclear power program. China's state-run nuclear companies are expected to join with French Electricity giant EDF to invest in building two next-generation nuclear reactors in southwest England.
The Hinkley Point C nuclear power station is expected to cost an estimated 25 billion pounds, nearly US$40 billion. The Chinese companies are expected to hold an estimated 40-percent stake in the plant that's expected to eventually generate about seven percent of Britain's power supplies.
Another major deal is a likely investment of about 50 billion pounds, or nearly US$80 billion, in the High Speed 2 rail project. The H-S-2 is a planned high-speed railway that will link the city centers of London, Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester.
The project is expected to boost the local economy and provide jobs for the region while significantly reducing carbon emissions. Travel time will almost be halved between the urban areas if the high-speed railway is completed and will only take 45 minutes to go from Birmingham to London.

French newspaper Le Figaro says, the Chinese president's visit to the U.K., will consolidate bilateral relations, and pave the way for a golden decade. It will also give a strong boost to trade and economic cooperation.
According to the Telegraph, polls show that the U.K. public welcomes the Chinese president's visit to the country. They also expect China to become the country's largest trading partner in the next 20 years. The newspaper also says this partnership will boost the U.K. economy.
