A storm that could dump up to three feet of snow on the East Coast from Philadelphia to Maine. Child care costs careers in South Korea

Ahn Ji-sun is 38. She gave up her career three years ago to be a stay-at-home mum after her second child was born. She's not alone. South Korean government data shows that more than one in five women of working age are leaving their jobs after getting married or having children,and not necessarily because they want to.

Pay is also little incentive for women to work. In 2012 women's salaries were just 65 per cent of their male counterparts. That difference is one of the biggest amongst developed countries. Women leaving their jobs and shrinking the workforce will become a problem for South Korea's ageing population. But some companies are trying to improve the situation. At Haan Corp, which makes steam-cleaning products, Chief Executive Romi Haan says mothers who return after giving birth automatically get an above-average performance rating as a boost.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) KAPA RESEARCH POLLSTER, GERASIMOS ROUTZOUNIS, SAYING:"Essentially voters are not deciding between which policies or what they are voting in favour of, they are deciding basically what they are against." What will happen if Syriza takes power? Many believe there will be months of torturous negotiations ahead if the party wins, as it tries to win concessions from EU and IMF lenders. The party almost took power in 2012, when fears of a Greek exit from the euro zone reached a high. That seems less likely this time around, according to Athens university professor George Pagoulatos. (SOUNDBITE)(English) GEORGE PAGOULATOS, ATHENS UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR OF EUROPEAN POLITICS AND ECONOMY, SAYING: "Grexit' cannot be totally excluded but I really see a really low likelihood of 'Grexit'. It makes no sense. The Greek economy and the Greek people have suffered a lot over the last five years." German Chancellor Angela Merkel said she was willing to work with whichever party wins the snap election. (SOUNDBITE) (German) GERMAN CHANCELLOR, ANGELA MERKEL, SAYING: "The Greek people will choose freely and independently and then we will enter into discussions with the government that is elected." Although Greece's debt burden is a whopping 175 percent of GDP - the economy is actually starting to grow. And despite the challenges ahead, it's a glimmer of hope for the country, and the party which is chosen to steer its future course.

Tuesday marks the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. Traveling to Poland from all corners of the world, survivors of the concentration camp will gather alongside world leaders to remember the six million Jewish victims of the Nazi program of industrial genocide.
European heads of state, including French president Francois Hollande and Ukraine's president Petro Poroshenko, will gather at the former concentration camp, near Krakow in southern Poland. Representatives from Russia, the United States and Israel will also attend the event.
On Monday German Chancellor Angela Merkel spoke at a ceremony in Berlin and said the anniversary can remind people that the concentration camp was a "warning of what people can do to one another".
"Auschwitz is a warning of what people can do to one another. Auschwitz is a terrible caesura in the history of humanity. Auschwitz stands for the break in civilisation committed by Germany, the Shoah. This is what gives the day that the concentration and extermination camp at Auschwitz-Birkenau was liberated its particular meaning," Merkel said.
"There we saw two of the greatest evils of our time: Islamist terrorism and anti-Semitism. A few days after the attacks millions of people came together in Paris to send a decisive message: we want to live together freely and peacefully. Together we act against barbarism inspired by hatred of people. Whether Muslim, Jewish, Christian, with or without religion, we belong together."
