翻译加油站：

字典可以查到toe-to-toe是“近战”、“面对面”的意思，fight it out toe to toe是“肉搏决一胜负” 的意思，于是误译者猜想go toe-to-toe with someone是“(与某人）决战到底”的意思。有时候有一些短语的意思确实可以“类推”得出来，但是这样的类推常常不保险，美国出版的A Dictionary of Slangs给go toe-to- toe的解释是debate，即“辩论”，不过考虑到俚语的文体色彩，不妨译为“斗嘴”。
