On bamboo mat in stream side hall autumn seems near;
At dusk along the stream broken clouds disappear.
Red lotus blooms lean against each other as if drunk;
A hovering white bird, mute, in grief must be sunk.

Content not with my book,
I stop reading to look
On hills and vales having a beauty of their own.
I do not know how much my physical power
Has weakened down,
But I feel too idle to mount the tower.
