1. What's your idea of the medical experiment conducted on animals?

Candidate 1: Basically, I am against doing medical experiments on animals. First, I'm an animal
protector who loves animals very much. Then I think both human beings and other creatures are the children of our earth, so we are equal and no one can govern the other. We should live in harmony with each other. However, on second thoughts, I think doing medical experiments can also bring benefits to people especially in medical fields. We can develop new methods or pills to save more people's lives by making use of the results of the experiments on animals should be permitted. All in all, the principle is that both man and animals can live better on the earth.

Candidate 2: Maybe a great many people will object to these experiments, but I'd like and have to say "yes" to them. Performing experiments on animals, yes, is inhumane(不人道的,残忍的). Animals and mankind have equal rights. Whereas, nothing but these experiments has brought our great progress in medicine, and nothing but these advances has saved thousands of lives. Experiments are inevitable, necessary and significant to both men and animals. I don't mean that people have rights to experiment on animals, and experimenting on animals doesn't mean making them die. Experimenting isn't fro the sake of experiment but for more lives and for not experimenting one day. They are valuable. Thanks to the advanced medical technology, we can
save more lives. As long as we adopt proper methods to conduct experiment and take good care of test animals, we can reduce the losses to the minimum. Finally, I believe someday we'll not do experiment any more.

2. Should animals live in the wild or in the zoos? How can visitors be close to and enjoy real animals?

Candidate 1: I believe all living things are created equally. That is, I except that people should visit animals in the wild, and maybe children or adults may learn to communicate with truly wild animals in the proper way animals may like. And I really hope we can treat animals equally. Maybe we can learn the language that animals use, hopefully.

Candidate 2: In my view, the right place for animal is in the wild, not in the zoos. Animals look forward to friends, freedom, and space just like man. Maybe it's dangerous for animals to live in the wild, but the natural surroundings can improve their abilities. They will become more independent. Although conditions perfect in zoos where animals needn't search for food, they will gradually lose a lot as they rely on people to feed them. In some cases, animals are trained to learn some acts to amuse people, as a result, more and more animals in zoos become unhealthy. Some of them suffer from depression; some eat lots of junk food. I agree with Darwin's theory about natural selection and survival of the fittest(物竞天择,适者生存). So animals should live in the wild which fits them most. In some parts of Africa, visitors are allowed to drive cars around
the forest to stay close to the wild, which I think is a good way to enjoy real animals.
