Climbing Wutai Mountain

爬五台山

Last summer,my parents and I took a trip to Wutai Mountain.

去年夏天，爸妈带我去五台山旅游。

It was my first time leaving home and traveling to a new place,so I was very excited.

那是我第一次离开家门去一个新的地方旅游，当时我很兴奋。

We got on the train and five hours later we arrived in a small city at the foot of the mountain.

我们上了火车后5个小时就到了山下的一个小城市。

Early the next morning,we set out for our climb.

第二天很早我们就去爬山。

The weather was nice,and I was running away ahead of my parents.

天气很好，我把爸妈远远滴拉在后面。

But soon I had to slow down because the bag on my back was getting heavier and heavier.

但是不就我就不得不慢下来因为我肩膀上的包越来越重。

I went to ask my dad for help,but then I remember I had promised him to carry my own bag.

我去找爸爸帮忙，当时我记起我已经跟他保证自己拿包了。

How could I go back on my word?

我怎么能食言呢？

So I pressed on.

所以我继续向前。

This famous mountain attracted many visitors.

这座著名的山吸引了很多游客。

Among these visitors was a little girl from Japan.

这些游客中有一位日本小女孩儿。

She was about five or six,and was carrying a bag as big as mine.

她大概5，6岁，和我拿一样大小的包。

When I learned that she had also climbed up herself,I was surprised.

当我知道她也是靠自己爬上来的时候，我很惊讶。

I went up to her and tried to help her.

我走向她想帮助她。

But she said "no" and she wanted to go on climbing the mountain with us.

但她拒绝了，她想和我们一起继续爬。

The rest of the way to the top was the most difficult.

到山顶最后的一段路是最难爬的。

All of us were tired and thirsty.

我们都又饿又渴。

Besides,I had to keep an eye on the Japanese girl,pulling her up when the steps were too high

另外，我还得留意这个日本女孩儿，当台阶太高的时候我得拉她一把。

I kept on.

我继续爬。

By noon,we finally got to the top.

不就，我们终于爬到了山顶。

My parents smiled at me.

爸妈对我笑了。

I thought they were proud of me because I had climbed up this high mountain on my own.

我觉得他们一定以我为荣，因为我靠自己爬了这么高的山。
