1.perpetual adj.永远的，永恒的，不断的；四季开花的
【记】词根记忆：per(始终)+pet(追求)+ual--自始至终的追求--永恒的
【例】There are many perpetual roses far and near in the garden.

2.disposal n．清除，销毁，丢掉；处置，处理；布置
【记】词根记忆：dis+pos(放)+al--分开放--布置
【例】at/in one's disposal: Those books are at your disposal from now on.
从现在开始，这些书就任你支配了。
【派】disposable[adj.可(任意)处理的，可自由支配的；一次性使用的，不回收的]

3.crisis n.危机；危急存亡之际，决定性时刻；转折点

4.compensate V.补偿，酬报

每个公司都应该付给员工加班费。
【用】compensate后一定接介词for，表示“凶为…补偿”

5.reproach n./vt.谴责，责备，责骂
【记】词根记忆：re(反对)+proach（靠近）--以反对的方式靠近--谴责
【例】 The mother reproached her son for his bad manners.
母亲责备儿子不讲礼貌。

6.elevate vt.抬起，升高；提高（嗓门等），振奋（情绪）；提升（职位）
【记】词根记忆：e（出）+lev（升）+ate(使)--使上升--升高
【例】The social development has greatly elevated the living standards of the people.
社会的发展大大提高了人民的生活水平。
【派】elevation n.提高，提升；高地，海拔；建筑物的立视图；（枪炮的）仰角]；elevator(n．电梯；起卸机)；elevated（adj.提高的；高尚的）【辨】elevate，dignify这两个词都有“提高，抬高”的意思。elevate可以用来指地位、道德、文化、精神等方面的提高；dignify常用来表示使某物显得重要，有时用来暗指徒有虚名。

8.considerate adj.关切的，体贴的；替人设想的，考虑周到的
【记】联想记忆：consider（考虑）+ate（…的）--总替别人考虑的--替人设想的，考虑周到的
【例】What we need here is a clerk who is careful and considerate.
我们这儿需要的是一个细心并且考虑周到的职员。（2000听力）
【辨】considerate, considerable这两个词都是consider的派生词．considerate意为“关切的；考虑周到的”，considerable意为“值得考虑的；重要的；相当多的”。
