It’s probably because you didn't use a noncount noun correctly.

A noncount noun is a group, mass, or collective noun.
不可数名词是指集体名词、物质名词或集合名词。
They cannot be counted because they are either too small or too abstract.
这些名词都是不可数的，因为他们要么太小，要么太抽象。
Noncount nouns have NO PLURAL FORM, even if they refer to multiple items.
即便不可数名词指代的是多个物体，仍然没有复数形式。
And the buzzer went off, because you said "CLOTHINGS" instead of "SHIRTS."
报警器冒出来是因为你用了clothing而不是shirts。

I get it. I know. You can't really count "clothing," because "clothing" can refer to different items, like PANTS, JACKETS, SHIRTS.
我明白了，确实clothing是不可数的，因为clothing指代诸如裤子、夹克和衬衫这些不同的物件，
But I was specifically talking about shirts. So, I should have said I bought "three shirts" instead.

That's right! Just remember that noncount nouns often refer to other groups of similar objects.

Like: FURNITURE, FOOD, MONEY, HOMEWORK.

Is there an easy way to find a noncount noun?

Not really, but the most important thing to know is that you can't use "A", "AN", or a number before a noncount noun.
