在中国东部山东省的一个渔村因海藻房而闻名。它拥有超过600幢建筑,而最古老的建筑要追溯到300年前清朝顺皇帝的统治时期。而更多的房子则是建于一个多世纪以前。

A fishing village in East China’s Shandong province is renowned for its seaweed houses. It boasts over 600 buildings, with the oldest dating back to the reign of the Qing Emperor Shunzhi, 300 years ago. Many more of the houses were built over a century ago.
With roofs made of big clumps seaweed, many doubt the stability of these unusual dwellings. Yet the angle of the roofs helps them survive the cold of winter and winds of summer.
The seaweed is 2 meters thick and that makes the houses quite comfortable when combined with the extra-thick walls. Some of the houses have been abandoned and gone into disrepair, but the village is doing what it can to preserve these unique houses.
