政治人物在面对媒体或民众时，通常会有专家先帮忙准备好一些重点提示，到时候政治人物照着提示说，比较不会说错话。同一个组织里的人要分别对外发言时，为了求取口径一致，也会事先准备好制式的谈话提示，免得谈话内容互相矛盾°这种「谈话提示」就是talking points。
