　　乔斯坦·贾德（Jostein Gaarder），是一位挪威世界级的作家，公元1952年8月8日出生于挪威首都奥斯陆，大学时主修哲学、神学以及文学，并于奥斯陆大学得斯堪那维亚文学系挪威文组的学位，曾担任文学与哲学教师，自1986年出版第一本创作以来，已成为当代最重要的北欧作家。其后10年在芬兰教授哲学，于1991年他成为一位全职作家。1991年《苏菲的世界》出版后，成为挪威、丹麦、瑞典和德国的畅销书，销量达到300万册。目前，已有30多个国家购买了该书的版权。 乔斯坦·贾德擅长以对话形式述说故事，能将高深的哲理以简洁、明快的笔调融入小说情境，他最著名的小说《苏菲的世界》享誉全球，被翻译为四十多种语言，全球销售量超过三亿册。
