PARIS - Just hours before Cannes film festival bosses Gilles Jacob and Thierry Fremaux were set to announce this year’s lineup at the 65th annual festival, a trailer for David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis hit the Internet, confirming the film’s inclusion in the official selection at Cannes.

The first few seconds of the trailer included the festival's signature "Competition Officielle Festival de Cannes" stamp and golden palm logo.

Based on a Don DeLillo novel, Cosmopolis stars Robert Pattinson as a billionaire heading across Manhattan for a haircut as he risks assassination and financial turmoil. The film boasts an international cast including Juliette Binoche, Paul Giamatti, Sarah Gadon and Jay Baruchel.

It wasn't immediately clear whether the film would bow as part of the Cannes competition or in an out-of-competition slot.

“Show me something I don't know”，伴随着罗伯特·帕丁森的旁白，影片带你跟随百万富翁走入狂野迷幻一夜。肉体、暴力、烂肉、血浆、性爱、幻觉，甚至车顶上趴着的人形老鼠，令人恍惚却又该死的严肃，昭示着大卫·柯南伯格彻底回归其80年代的迷幻作风。当然，也有那么点黑色幽默，比如罗伯特·帕丁森只是想剪个头发却遭遇这么多麻烦。因《暮色》系列成名、有小白脸之嫌的帕丁森，在影片中似乎也被调教得风格冷厉。
去年大卫·柯南伯格聚焦精神分析学泰斗弗洛伊德与荣格的《危险方法》曾入围威尼斯电影界主竞赛单元，但最终颗粒无收，显然柯南伯格严谨的学术路线没有抓住评委的心。而从这款预告来看，《大都市》很有可能是柯南伯格回归招牌重口味的力作。

《大都市》根据唐·德里罗（Don DeLillo）2003年出版的同名小说改编，唐·德里罗被誉为“20世纪的狄更斯”。小说讲述了一名年仅28岁的亿万富翁穿行于曼哈顿繁华街市的24小时冒险历程，途中他遇到了很多人和事。罗伯特·帕丁森将在片中饰演这位青年富翁，由于股市异常，他的全部财产在一天之内化为泡影。

除罗伯特·帕丁森，还有朱丽叶·比诺什、马修·阿马立克、保罗·吉亚玛提、萨曼莎·莫顿加盟本片。《大都市》将于5月25日亮相戛纳电影节，23日法国上映。
