With remarkable progress of the society,the standard of people's dressing style has undergone profound changes.Concerning the debate that whether it is important to have rules about thetypes of clothing that people are allowed to wear at work or school, peoplediffer in their attitudes. It is widely acknowledged that it is good for peopleto show their individuality by wearing types of clothing at their will.However, I firmly hold the view that dressing code in school or at work is anecessity. And my reasons and examples are given below.

Admittedly, wearing certain types ofclothing can have one or two downsides. For instance, dressing code makespeople lack of individuality. However, compared with good grades in school andsatisfactory working performance, the expression of one’s individuality bywearing different clothes is in fact a minor issue, because good grades andworking performance have nothing to do with one's clothing. And therefore, I amstill convinced that having rules about types of clothing is essential forstudents or staff members.

From what has been discussed above, we can safelydraw a conclusion that it is very important to standardize people’s dressing atwork or school. Not only because uniformed clothing can create a professionalatmosphere, but also it makes it convenient for school authority and companiesto manage its students and staff.
