Not using one's best efforts to win a match（没有尽全力赢得比赛）其实就是“消极怠战”，国际羽联认为这是conducting oneself in a manner that is clearly abusive or detrimental to the sport（明显有悖体育精神的行为），已正式宣布disqualify these players（取消这些选手的比赛资格）。
据报道，在这几组选手都已进入knockout stages/quarter-finals（淘汰赛阶段）。比赛过程中，她们均出现serve into the net（发球下网）和hit the shuttlecock out of the court（回球出界）等失误，以至于场上裁判都发出警告，甚至曾一度表示要出示black card（黑牌）取消这些选手的比赛资格。
