交河故城
The Ruins of Jiaohe Lying in Yarnaz Gully 13 kilometers were of Turpan, the ruins used to be the capital of Yarkhoto,one of 36 kingdoms of West Territory.
交河故城位于吐鲁番市以西约13公里的亚尔乡,故城曾经是亚尔乡首都,西西域三十六城郭诸国之一。
The ancient city was first established during the Han Dynasty as a garrison town on a 30-meter-high loess plateau bounded by two rivers— thus the name Jiaohewhich means “confluence of two rivers”.
古城最初在汉代建在两条河交汇处30米高的黄土台上,因此,交河的名称,意思是两条河流“融合”。
Present ruin of the city,built during the Tang Dynasty,is 1,650 meters long and 300 meters wide.
现在的故城,建于唐代,长1650米,宽300米。
