1.2 Last month in Green Magazine,
we asked readers to tell us
about the environmental projects
in their schools.
Here are some of their letters.
RECYCLING
In my school,we decided to collect old newspaper
to recycle them.
So far we have collected nearly a ton!
We sell the newspapers to a paper recycling
company and we use the money
to buy sports equipment for the school.
The program has been very successful
and so we have decided
to start collecting plastic
and glass bottles as well.
TREE PLANTING
Trees are very important in a city
because they give us clean air.
We have just started a new program.
We are planting trees around our school.
So far we have planted about thirty trees
around the school buildings
and near the school gates.
We are making the school look more attractive
and helping the environment at the same time.
