Leaving my four-year-old son in the house,

I ran out to throw something in the trash.

When I tried to open the door

to get back inside,it was locked.

I knew that insisting that my son open

the door would have been

resulted in an hour-long talk.

So in a sad voice,I said,"Oh,too bad,

you just locked yourself in the house."

The door opened at once.

我把四岁的儿子留在屋里，

跑出去把垃圾倒在垃圾桶里。

当我回来开门时，门被反锁住了。

我知道，如果我要坚持让孩子开门，

不跟他来一个多小时的拉锯战是不可能的。

所以我就用很伤心的口吻说

:“噢，太槽糕了。你把自己锁在屋里了。”

门马上便开了。
