就像小的时候
在屋后的那一片菜花田里
一直玩到天黑
太阳下山，汗已吹冷
总似乎听见，远远
母亲喊我
吃晚饭的声音
　
可以想见晚年
太阳下山，汗已吹冷
五千年深的古屋里
就亮起一盏灯
就传来一声呼叫
比小时候更安慰，动人
远远，喊我回家去

The Call
Yu Kwang-chung

Just as, in my childhood,
Across that field of flowering rapes
Behind the old house,
I trotted on and on till dark,
When sun was set and cold was sweat,
And seemed to hear from afar
Mother's voice calling me
To come home for supper,

Imagine how in my age,
When sun is set and cold is sweat,
There from the house of 5000 years
A lamp by the window is seen
And a voice is heard,
Even more soothing and moving
Than in my childhood,
Calling me to come home.
