　　今天是经济学人最新的文章。先读，然后回答一个问题：
　　根据这两句话的表述，议会中各党派忙着废除法律是好事还是坏事 ? 新版《时文精析》已经出来了，大家可以咨询当地文都老师(这本书不是教材所以需要自行购买，除非当地做活动赠送。)

　　Since Britain’s politicians seem incapable of passing any useful new laws, they should occupy themselves in scrapping some useless old ones. If, in a few years’ time, parties campaigned as much on the laws they scrapped as those they created, this idle parliament would have turned out to be rather radical--- not to mention more useful.

　　但是句子长了以后怕大家理不清楚的，所以：

　　这样的句子我习惯这样拆分理解：

　　Parties campaigned on the laws they scrapped and Parties campaigned on those(=laws)they created.
　　如果各党派既能为废除法律而努力，又能为制定法律而努力;

　　很多时候我们在英语学习上的欠债是由于我们学单词是看的汉语解释，而不是英语解释;大家查一下牛津英汉双解就知道：not to mention的解释就是：as well as; 由于备考时间有限，下次我告诉你是什么意思你就记住就好了，我也不做过多的解释了。时间有限啊!考完再说彻底提高英语的事情吧。
　　I am rich. I have five houses, not to mention two cars. 阅读理解：我是土豪。我有五套房和两辆车。翻译：我是土豪，我有五套房更不用说那两台车了。
　　阅读很多时候是强调语境的;如果记单词汉语意思就可以了，学阅读干嘛呢?在昨天句子的语境中，根据not to mention就可以知道：radical=more useful.所以大家就不要再问为什么radical在字典上怎么没有这个含义啊。
　　前面有个idle，作者为了押韵就用了个语义很多样的radical和前面形成正反对应。
