  这一季雅思口语话题中,遇到轮换的一个新题是boat,看到这个题目很多同学表示没话说。实质上,这个题目可问的、可组织的语言有很多。下面是朱博老师为大家编写的part1 有关boat的解析。
Do you often travel by boat?
Do you often travel by boat?
Well, I hardly ever travel by boat, 'cause I always get seasick when I'm on a boat. I feel dizzy and I wanna throw up even at the sight of a boat. So when I need to go somewhere, I prefer to take the train or plane.
Have you ever been on a boat tour while you were on holidays?
Well, yeah, and it was not a good experience. Just a few days ago I took a trip to Thailand, and on the second day we were arranged to live on an island, which means I had to get there by boat. The worst part was, it was windy and huge waves were breaking on the shore. The boat kept rocking from side to side, which was killing me.
Where in your country do people most often use boats or, travel by boat?
Well, as far as I know, people in the south of China always travel by boat, 'cause there are lots of rivers and lakes there. And I heard that many people who live on the south coast make a living as fishermen, so they spend most of the time on the water.
Do many people in your country own their own boat?
For people in the south of China, many of them own fishing boats 'cause like I said, they catch fish to make a living. And at some tourist spots near the ocean, local people tend to buy speedboats and they would rent them to tourists, but in my hometown or other cities in the north, people seldom buy boats 'cause it's just not necessary.
Would you like to buy a boat?
No, I don't think so, 'cause first of all, I have no place to put it, besides, like I said, I don't like to go boating 'cause it gives me seasickness. So having a boat is just a waste of money for me.
If you had your own boat, what would you do with it?
Um... I would probably just rent it to someone else, 'cause it's no use to me, and it would take up so much space. If I rent it to others, I could at least make some money from it.
Is boat trip poplar in your country?
Well, I guess yeah. There are many cities in China that have rivers, and going boating on those rivers is like an entertainment activity. Most tourists would choose to do it as part of their sightseeing, especially at night when the views are more attractive. And also, it could be a convenient means of transport for people who live close to water.
