I'd like to talk about a man named Mike Sui who's a comedian and host in China. He's actually an American but he speaks fluent Chinese, and all of his career is based in China. To be honest, he's not very decent-looking, but he's super talented. He can speak lots of Chinese dialects, like Sichuan dialect and Cantonese. And he can imitate foreign accents when speaking Chinese, which is ridiculously funny. For example, in his videos, a Korean person speaks like this: "Oh I'm so soli", which is supposed to be "sorry". So you see, it's pretty hilarious.
In his spare/free time, he likes to make funny videos to entertain/amuse people, and that's how I knew him. The one I remember the most is about a short trip several people took on a train. He acted 18 different roles all by himself, which is amazing, you know. And I remember he mimicked a guy from my hometown. The accent he did was really cute.
You might wonder why he can speak Chinese like a native, well, that's because although he was born in America, he moved to China with his mother at a very young age, so it's fair to say he's basically half Chinese.
And he works in show business, every day he has to communicate with his coworkers, who are mostly Chinese. He has the chance to speak Chinese every day. I guess that explains why he has a good command of Chinese.
I like him not just because he's an excellent actor, but also because he has a great affection for China and Chinese culture. And I heard he has a new movie coming up soon. I'm really looking forward to it.
