Drummer hits the road Yang Ming, drummer for a popular rock band,has packed his bags.
Not only has he decided to move apartments,he is actually leaving Shanghai after his neighbours made several complaints about loss of sleep. Never has he know anything like it.
Besides having to leave his home, it is the fact that people have branded his music "noise" that upsets Yang Ming."It's this that really gets to me", fumes Yang Ming. He also feels that his rights have been ignored saying, "I only need 4 hours sleep a night, so why shouldn't I practise my drumming as late as like?" Seldom has drumming caused such conflict. Yang Ming's neighbours claim that they were being kept awake, night after night, and being driven mad by the noise. Had they known their neighbour was a drummer, they wouldn't have moved into the building. "All we want to do is forget the sound of drumming!" they said. No sooner had they moved in than the noise began and rarely did they get a full night's sleep. Neither could they relax or read a book without wearing earplugs! In the end,the local council took action.
